2012 Black Cordon Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon The Black Cordon Vineyard
Dark ruby red with a purplish core. Layered nose with dark mountain berries, purple floral notes and cinnamon. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Seems like it might need a little time to beef up. Complex palate with layers of red berries, floral notes, dark baking spices like cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar. Dark gravel in the finish as well, long and lingering finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.

A little tight on the nose with layers of red cherries, pencil shavings and a touch of smoky notes. High tannins (8/10) and full bodied. A bit rough on the palate with a sandpaper like feel. A touch tart with loads of red cherries. Smooth midpalate with a pinch near the long and lingering finish. Got a bottle to try in the future. Can't wait.
