2003 Harlan Estate The Maiden
Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Dark garnet red with slight browning near the edges. Nose was full of sweet dark berries almost candied or port like. Undertones were a little dirty. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) accompied with a moderate plus body. Slight heat on the palate with dark fruits like cassis and blackberries. Long and lingering finish. Overall this still seems too young and needs time to fully open up. Hopefully with time this baby will develop and become more balanced.
This is the Harlan Estate's second label. All the fruit in this wine also comes from the estate with the average production of 900 cases.
