2000 Château Lynch-Bages
Region: Pauillac, Medoc, Bordeaux, France
Third out of the three year blind vertical after the blind Burgundy night. Deep garnet red but a shade or two lighter than the 2002 and 2006. Lots of rustic, earthy and vegetal notes on the nose. Vegetal such as bell peppers. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium bodied. Lots of greenery, some bark and definitely a rustic edge. Long and lingering finish, that is quite dry.
Classified as a Fifth Growth during the Official Classification of 1855 which only classified estates on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. This Bordeaux blend is comprised of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 15 months in 70% new French oak.
