Allagash Brett IPA

Brewery: Allagash Brewing Company

Region: Portland, Maine, United States of America

Tasting Note:January 13, 2018

Cloudy orange hues with a decent head and liveliness. Lovely aromas on the nose with hops, citrus, and tropical fruits. Full bodied with a good amount of hops, not over the top. Some floral notes and citrus on the palate. Long finish.

This bottling is a limited release bottling from Allagash Brewing Company in Portland, Maine. part of the Anniversary Ale blending program at Firestone Walker. This Imperial Brown Ale is fermented in retired oak bourbon barrels using multiple hops and malts. Malts: Two Row, Munich, c-75, Simpsons Dark, Roast Barley, and Dextrose. Hops: Columbus, and Tettnanger. First one of their Anniversary Ale blending program for us and love the details on the label. Low IBUs (International Bitterness Unit) at only 28 but that is usual for a malty beer. Also, an insanely high alcohol level at 13.2%. Only 4,000 cases produced.
