Tasting Note:March 5, 2018

Dark purplish ruby red. Dark raspberries on the nose with spices. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Dry palate with black cherries, twigs and dried chocolate. Long finish with solid acidity.

Made up of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 6% Merlot from the Smith-Madrone Estate Vineyard grown on the top of Spring Mountain at an elevation of 1800 feet. Aged for 18 months in 75% new French oak barrels. Only 1,388 cases produced.
