Tasting Note:February 10, 2018

First Syrah in our California Syrah tasting.

Definitely seems to have had some seepage in the past. Deep ruby red. Dark and thick nose with dark berries, spices, and a touch of pepper. Medium tannins (5/10) and medium bodied. Nicely integrated and balanced with notes of plums, flora, gravel and spices. Medium to medium plus body.

First commercial vintage for Boyd Family Vineyards out of the Oak Knoll District in Napa Valley. Generally made up of around 96 to 98% Syrah with a touch of Viognier added in.

2018 till 2020.
