Forth red wine on the wine drive at Waterford. This is the flagship bottling at the Waterford Estate. Deep ruby red with slightly lighter edges. Interesting nose with violets, black raspberries, light olives and some red cherries. Medium plus to heavy tannins (6.5/10) and full bodied. Needs a little bit of time to integrate. Layered palate with dark berries, spices, sweet spices too, pepper and graphite. Very dry and long finish.


A blend of as many of the 11 varietals grown on the estate, this specific bottling is made up of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Shiraz, 14% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Barbera and 2% Sangiovese. Aged for 21 months in 25% new French oak barrels and only 56 barrels produced or around 1,400 cases.
