Tasting Note:September 13, 2017

First of all thank you Stephen for gifting this to us, delicious wine and can easily see why this is one of your first loves!

First time trying the Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz from Mollydooker and quite impressed. Super dark ruby core with a bit of garnet on the edges. A touch savory on the nose but with tons of dark floral notes and a mix of black and blueberries. Medium tannins (6/10) and a little bit of heat. Medium plus bodied. Dark and rich on the palate with caramel, purple floral notes, vanilla, coffee, tons of dark berries, spices, anise and a touch of savouriness. Quite extracted and good amount of fruit. Long finish.

Made up of 100% Shiraz, half of which comes from the Joppich Vineyard in Langhorne Creek while the other half comes from the Gateway (same vineyard as the Carnival of Love and Velvet Glove) and Kirwin Vineyards in McLaren Vale. Aged in 83% new and 17% one year old American oak barrels. Delicious Shiraz from I guess you could say the third tier of wines from Mollydooker. First being the Velvet Glove and the second tier being the Enchanted Path and Carnival of Love.
