2014 Great Frogs Winery Petit Verdot Capital Series

It was a blast meeting Andrea and Nate on Friday Night Day Night also celebrating their anniversary. Thanks for inviting us out. Dark garnet red in color. Some purple floral notes with cherries and green bark on the nose. Palate was a little singular but fuller than the 2015 PV out of Virginia. Lots of cherry cola notes especially in the texture. Low tannins (4.5/10) and moderate body. A little short in the finish, almost moderate in length.
This Capital Series is a very interesting concept that Nate is trying to compare Petit Verdot made in Maryland compared to Virginia. One of the highlights of our visit to Great Frogs was their Port-Styled wine, we only got to sample it, but it was delicious!
