2000 Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou
Beautifully aged in color, brick red, hints of brown probably due to age. Great nose, very earthy and lots of barnyard. Tannins are still strong and powerful, full bodied. Dry finish like classic French Bordeaux. Tasted blind. Absolutely delicious, great structure, well integrated and can definitely keep going. Did not taste 15 years old!
Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou is a Second Growth from St. Julien. Fun fact, only wines from the Left Bank of Bordeaux are a part of the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
