De Toren Private Cellar is a boutique winery located on the Polkadraai Hills in Stellenbosch that strives themselves in being experts in making Bordeaux-Style red wines. De Toren started back in 1991 when Emil and Sonette den Dulk with their initial purchase of 7 hectares in Stellenbosch. In 1999 they released their maiden vintage of their Fusion V, which is their Left Bank inspired blend. Following this release in 2004 De Toren introduced their Right Bank inspired blend, Z.

On this trip, De Toren was our first stop in Stellenbosch. Charles has an amazing host and cannot wait to try more of the wines he is making! This is definitely a must visit estate for anyone who thinks South Africa cannot compete on the world stage with Bordeaux Blend reds.
