2014 August Briggs Carneros Pinot Noir

Estate: August Briggs Winery
Region: Carneros, Napa Valley, North Coast, California, United States of America
Vineyard: Sinskey Vineyard

Tasting Note:March 24, 2018

Medium mix of garnet and ruby red. Layered nose with purple flowers, white pepper, twigs, and strawberries. Moderate acidity (6.5/10) and medium bodied. Lovely texture on the palate with cinnamon, minerality, twigs, currants, strawberries, and a hint of savory spices. Well integrated and great quality Pinot.

First time trying a wine made by Jesse Inman and his uncle August "Joe" Briggs. Not bad, especially for the price that Last Bottle Wines will be selling it for on March 30th, 2018. If the aging of this bottling is similar to previous vintages it is aged in around 25% new French oak for 9 months, just enough to give it that lovely texture on the palate.
