2015 Holden Manz Cabernet Franc Reserve

Estate: Holden Manz Wine Estate

Region: Franschhoek Valley, Coastal Region, Western Cape, South Africa

Tasting Note:December 21, 2017

Second to last bottled red wine we tried at Holden Manz with Gerard and Wayne.

Deep and dark ruby red. Layered nose with a cedar undertone, dark berries over the top with some dried berries too and a touch of pepper. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. Love the complexity on the nose with dark cocoa, blackberries, blackcurrants, a bit chalky and some light blue fruits. Long and lingering finish. Powerhouse at Holden Manz.

4th vintage of this bottling. Made up of 100% Cabernet Franc and aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak. Only 2,635 bottles made.
