2015 Saronsberg Cape Winemakers Guild Shiraz Reserve

Dark ruby red in appearance. Dark nose with black plums, leather and spiced undertone. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Plush and big mouthfeel with caramel, cinnamon, spices, dark berries and dark gravel. Dry and long finish.


Thirtieth wine at the Friday Auction Tasting for the Cape Winemakers Guild and the nineteenth red wine. This is made up of 100% Shiraz by Dewaldt Heyns with fruit from two Shiraz vineyards in the Tulbagh region. Aged for 22 months in new French oak barrels. Only 140 cases produced with 48 being auctioned in 2018.
