2016 Kale Wines Grenache Blanc Somerston Vineyard

Estate: Kale Wines
Region: Napa Valley, California, United States of America
Vineyard: Somerston Vineyard

Tasting Note:May 01, 2017

This is the inaugural vintage of this beauty from Kale Anderson of Kale Wines and their Southern Rhône inspired white wine. Clear pale yellow. Refreshing nose with some white floral, white stone fruits, pineapples, and lime zest. Crisp acidity (7.5/10) and light to medium bodied. Delicious with layers of citrus, stone fruits and slate on the palate. Seems to only grow with complexity as it warmed up. Finish lingers and very excited to see how this will progress.

All the fruit is from the Somerston Vineyard, located 10 miles east of the Silverado Trail. Made up of 100% Grenache Blanc. The Grenache Blanc is gently pressed through the Diemme bladder press aka the 'sparkling wine program'. Then racked in a stainless steel tank and one neutral French oak barrel. Lightly filtered. Only 201 cases produced.
