2008 Château Cos d'Estournel

Estate: Château Cos d'Estournel
Region: St. Estèphe, Médoc, Bordeaux, France

Tasting Note:May 13, 2017

Third Cos d'Estournel of the day and the best one all around at the moment. Still young with a dark mix of ruby and garnet red. Complex nose with notes of graphite, earth, touch of damp leaves, tobacco, black cherries, spices and cocoa. Heavy tannins (7/10) and dry. Full bodied with layers of red berries, earthiness, spices, floral notes and a hint smokey. Long and lingering finish. Tons of life still left in this bottle, would love to try it again in another five to ten years.

Classified as a Second Growth during the Official Classification of 1855 which only classified estates on the Left Bank of Bordeaux. This Bordeaux blend is comprised of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.
