2013 Lauren Ashton Cellars Cuvée Estelle

Estate: Lauren Ashton Cellars
Region: Columbia Valley, Washington State, United States of America
Vineyards: Dineen, Stillwater Creek, Quintessence, Weinbau, Upland, and Les Collines Vineyards

Tasting Note:February 27, 2017

Medium to deep ruby red. A bit savory on the nose with dark cocoa, black cherries and dark gravel. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Attack is straight blueberry cola before adding layers of dark berries, baking spices, earthiness and a little green. Medium plus to a long finish. Drinking well right now.

This wine is 64% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. The name 'Estelle' for this bottling was chosen by winemaker, Kit Singh, because "Estelle translates to STAR in both Latin and French - we make all of our wines in a traditional French style. I think STAR is a perfect way to describe this wine, our Cuvee Estelle." Only 530 cases produced.
